Silver Creek Leather

My next internship outside of school in 2019 was with Silver Creek Leather. They manufacture two brands, Realeather and Speedy Stitcher. I was their graphic design and product photographer. I helped update internal materials, create flyers, photograph new products, and create their 2020 catalog.

I was asked to check out the logos of all the brands to adjust any funky lines for example. I create a color, white, and black version of the logos. After acquiring the Speedy Stitcher brand, we did not receive the original files of their logos, so I had to recreate the logo. I searched the typeface of the logo and found the typeface, but the 'S' were hand made.

While looking at the previous catalog and the branding guide, I wondered where they got the secondary color palette in the catalog. There wasn't a secondary color palette mentioned anywhere. I wanted to propose a secondary color pallet for the Realeather brand inspired by their suede lace colors.

I started redoing their branding guides for each brand. I researched common sections in branding guides and made a list that would apply in this situation.

I created flyers for SCL to promote new products, for example.

In the summer, SCL released a new product: leather earrings. After trial and error and prototypes...this was the real thing ready to ship out to stores. Many online retailers like to have a packaged, out of the package, and an in-use photo of the product. I was asked to create a sample of each earring combo for the Micheals website! I spent about three weeks hammering out earrings, photographing them on a stand, on someone, and what I'm calling studio lifestyle.

For 2020, Realeather needed a new catalog of their products for their customers. Loving layout design, I was super pumped to start this project! I started in the summer from scratch taking content for the previous edition, assigning character styles, and taking or updating product photos. I was asked to stop working on the project and didn't touch it again until December. That month was the fastest and hard-working month ever. I wanted it to be perfect and accurate. If I could circle all the photos that are mine, man oh man, I'm super proud.
